Mulcair Credit Union is a financial co-operative owned and controlled by its members. It is run for the benefit of its members who are connected through a common bond – an area from which Mulcair Credit Union can accept members.
The common bond of Mulcair Credit Union covers Newport and surrounding areas including Birdhill, Killoscully, Ballinahinch, Toor, Rearcross, Kilcommon, Murroe and Annaholty.
To become a member you must live or work within our common bond area. We accept new members of all ages from the surrounding areas within our common bond.
Mulcair Credit Union lets people in the local community come together to save and borrow at low rates and is operated on a not-for-profit basis with surpluses being returned to members.
How to become a member and take advantage of our products and services:
To become a member simply call into any of our offices and complete a membership application form with a member of staff.
Please note an account can be opened with as little as €5 euro.
What do I need to join?
By law Mulcair Credit Union requires three pieces of identification to open a new account.
Photo ID: a current driving license, a current passport, or a national identity card.
Proof of Address: a utility bill within the last three months (ESB, Telephone etc) or a government letter such as tax cert/letter, grant letter etc.
PPS number (Personal Public Service Number): to verify your tax reference number we require any documentation that displays your PPS number e.g. P60, P45, pay slip, medical card, or any correspondence from the tax office.
